Finally got around to watching this. Probably the most fun part of my week.

@stevenhillgraphicdesign : If you average the age of all the people featured in this video, It’s probably hovering around 29 or 30.

This is such a fun video to watch. Girl & Chocolate (and really just Crailtap) have single handedly made skateboarding interesting and fun for me as an adult. And It makes me feel good that these guys are around my age (not that I can even remotely hang with the skill level in any of their videos). I love Rick Howard’s style too. That backside ollie at the beginning is so carefree and soulful. And Kenny Anderson’s vertical lipslide near the end? What is that even?

I like this commercial for a few reasons. One, because I have always loved commercials and would love to direct some one day. They are the perfect medium for short, funny, quirky content. And two, because good mouse actors are sorely underrepresented and deserve more press. (Keep watching, happy ending to come.)

“Johnson is credited with inventing the “bootleg turn,” in which a driver escapes a pursuer by sharply putting his speeding car into a 180-degree turn on the highway, then speeding off in the opposite direction before his pursuer can turn around. Johnson was also known to buy and use police lights and sirens to fool policemen who had set up roadblocks into thinking that he was a fellow policeman; upon hearing his approach, the police would quickly remove the roadblocks, allowing Johnson to escape with his moonshine.”

I was going through my sorely neglected “friends” folder in my Google Reader today and noticed two sorely neglected videos from some good friends. I’m lucky to have talented, inspiring friends. This first one was shot by my old roomie Josh Goleman for the (Golden Globe winning) Crazy Heart movie.

This second one was made by my friends Sam and Russ about their recent trip back home to Texas. They made the music too. Good job guys. (Tumblr users can’t see this video in their dashboard because it’s embedded through html. You have to actually go to my blog to see it. Too many steps, I know.) Enjoy.
